I've spent years spent searching the Internet, checking out websites for free, good-quality clip art. Most of the websites that offer "free clip art" give you maybe a dozen small images, often to entice you to buy their clip art CDs.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to make money, but it's frustrating to go through site after site only to come up with a handful of mediocre images. And, if you do find some good ones, the website owner often wants a link even if the content is public domain.
So, I decided to create my own image archive. After all, I've been collecting images for years. Some of these are from the Internet, some I have scanned from magazines and books.
I have organized the clip art into categories and, in some cases, there are sub-categories to enable you to better find what you're searching for. I plan on, with the help of Google's website tools, indexing the images (and, in some cases, renaming them for better accuracy) to make searching even better.
While some of this clip art is public domain, some of it may be copyrighted and therefore cannot be used in any commercial project without permission of the copyright owner. If you violate copyright laws, you do so at your own risk. So, consider yourself warned!
In some instances, I have included a link, in the form of a .zip archive, to an EPS version of the image. When you click on the image, you will be taken to another page that gives you the option to choose your format.
